South Australia has a number of Sister City relationships with the United States.

Adelaide is sister city to Austin, Texas

Austin, Texas, capital of the Lone Star State, has awakened in the past 20 years to an increasingly prominent national and international role. Still relaxed, but no longer just a sleepy college town, the city has almost doubled in population in the past 25 years. During the 1990s, Austin became one of the fastest growing large cities in the United States. Now the 18^th largest city in the United States, this "Live Music Capital of the World" and high technology center is a recognized leader in Smart Growth concepts of managing where development should occur so that a city’s natural beauty and quality of life are preserved.
