Blow Glass Down Under at the Torrens Parade Ground
Adelaide — May
This autumn, The Corning Museum of Glass (CMOG) was blowing glass “down under.” The first time out of the United States, The Museum’s state-of-the-art mobile glassblowing unit was on a multi-city Australian tour, ending with an appearance May 7-9 at the 2005 Glass Arts Society’s 35th Annual Conference in Adelaide.
In addition to bringing the message of glassmaking and CMOG to a new audience, the Australia tour honors a similar one in which American artist Richard Marquis visited Australian cities in 1974 with a smaller glassmaking unit.
For more information on the tour, visit the Corning Museum of Glass website at www.cmog.org.
